Manager, World Waterpark
The World Waterpark Manager will oversee the operation of the World Waterpark on a daily basis including both the aquatics and food and beverage departments. This position will be responsible to ensure a positive working environment for employees and a safe, pleasant experience for our guests while achieving financial and development goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Developing and achieving the business objectives and revenue goals set out for the facility through innovative operations management and planning.
- Providing leadership and staff development to all employees in the Waterpark through effective role modeling and coaching techniques.
- Working to develop new and exciting promotions, activities, and physical enhancements to the park, its food and beverage operations, and events.
- Overseeing the facility’s overall cleanliness and safety as well as fostering positive relationships with outside agencies, cleaning and maintenance contractors, and governing bodies to ensure all health and safety regulations are being met at all times.
- Maintaining constant contact with the other departments in the company to utilize the organization’s resources to enhance the Waterpark’s programs and services.
- Overseeing the Waterpark’s employee relations, recruitment, labour costs, and training activities and initiatives.
- Being called upon to deal with all aspects of Waterpark customer service issues, public inquiries, and guest concerns.
- Ensuring all policies and procedures are being followed at all times within the park.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must have experience acting as in a Senior Management level role within large scale aquatics facility operation, or recreation and/or attraction based facility.
- Post-secondary education in Business Management, Recreation Management, or in a related discipline.
- Proven project management and operations management skills with the ability to practice continual learning to understand the unique and complex Waterpark practices, procedures and essential industry requirements.
- Previous experience and/or knowledge of aquatics operations management, with knowledge of pool operations and up to date formal swimming and lifeguarding certifications as a definite asset.
- Experience working successfully with all employees including mentoring those new to the workforce and leading large scale teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills complemented by strong team building and motivating abilities.
- A sound grasp of modern business principles, time-management, organization expectations, and staff management practices.
Terms of Employment:
- This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability including days, evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.
- This is a salaried position that will depend on experience and qualifications.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
